Alana Harewood – Principal (Ag.)
MS. ALANA HAREWOOD holds a BA. in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Having completed her first degree, she went on to work at the Centre for Gender Studies as a Research Assistant. During her time there she was offered a job to teach ESL to Venezuelan students and it was this opportunity that sparked her passion for teaching. A few months later she applied to teach at BATCE where she has been working since its inception in 2001. Within five years at the institution, she became the Head of the Department for English and has been acting Vice-Principal at Trinity College East for the past four years. While at Trinity College East, she pursued studies at the University of the West Indies where she successfully completed her Diploma in Education with a Specialization in Educational Administration in 2008 and graduated with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 2019.
Latoya Thomas-Paponette – Vice-Principal (Ag.)
MRS. THOMAS-PAPONETTE has been an educator for over twenty-five years. She joined the Trinity College East family in 2004 as a History and Social Studies Teacher. Over the years, Mrs. Paponette has been a Dean of discipline and later Head of the Social Sciences Department. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Administration. Mrs. Paponette is passionate about all-round student development and has led numerous initiatives aimed at promoting student leadership and engagement at Trinity College East.
