Derek Carrington is a committed husband and father with a diverse professional background spanning over twenty years. He began his career in Information Technology Sales, gaining extensive experience in servicing the local financial sector and representing a wide range of technologies from global top-tier suppliers.

His academic journey includes earning a BSc. in Economics from the University of the West Indies and an M.A. in Regional Planning and Resource Development from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Motivated by a passion for the environment, Derek initially worked as a Resource Economist at the Institute of Marine Affairs and later as a Lecturer in Marine Resource Economics at the School for Field Studies in the Turks and Caicos Islands, affiliated with Boston University.

In the late 1990s, Derek returned to Trinidad, transitioning to Massy Technologies InfoCom (formerly CCS Technology), where he has thrived for nearly two decades as Senior Account Manager. His role encompasses ICT Sales and Relationship Management across Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and Suriname. His career reflects a blend of technical expertise, academic achievement, and a steadfast commitment to both family and professional excellence.
